Castlerigg Stone Circle
Exciting six hour tour showing every aspect of the Lake District including eight beautiful lakes - Tarn Hows, mountian ranges, Coniston village, Swallows and Amazons, the area of the Poet Wordsworth at Grasmere (and the outside of Dove Cottage), history of Thirlmere's man-made lake. There are fantastic photo opportunities at Ashness Bridge and Surprise View at Derwentwater, walks through two famous Lakeland towns and a short lake cruise (time permitting). Visit the 500 year old stone circle (our own mini Stone Henge) and still be back to do some shopping or connect with your London train - Adult 40 pounds sterling (Child 22 pounds sterling)

9:05 in Bowness at the Royalty Cinema (see maps on back). We travel up the eastern shore of Windermere towards Ambleside where any persons who have pre-booked a tour are able to join us opposite the library

Wordsworth's grave
(see map). Passing through narrow lanes to Tarn Hows for a short hike to admire England's most beautiful views. At Coniston Water where Arthur Ransome featured Swallows and Amazons we can see Brantwood, the home of the Victorian poet, artist and philosopher - John Ruskin. We continue to Grasmere where you may sample Grasmere gingerbread and visit William Wordsworth's grave and photograph Dove Cottage and the 750 years old church of St Oswald. We discuss the history of Thirlmere and travel to the market town of Keswick after travelling the eastern shore of Derwentwater to see the two most photographed sights in Lakeland. Ashness Bridge and Surprise View. If time and weather permits we include a short cruise on the lake from Ashness Pier to Keswick before entering the market town of Keswick for a lunch - not included. 5000 years ago Neolithic tribes constructed a stone circle, our tour enters the circle and you may photograph this amazing location. Drive back through the beautiful St John's in the Vale
15:30 We return to Bowness to allow time for shopping before the optional return to Oxenholme Station to connect with your London train.
